NEWS 2003

December 2003

December saw the completion of grey '64 C Coupe. It headed west and arrived at it's new home in time for Christmas. The remainder of the month was spent building additional shop storage and getting things more organized. The Bali Blue Coupe is sitting ready for assembly, which will begin after the first of the year. 2003 was a good year. We met some great people and help them realize their dreams of owning a 356.

November 2003

The grey '64 C Coupe is almost complete. It is a running car and will head to California in mid December. The Bali Blue '62 B Coupe is back from the painters. What a great color. Check out the current projects page. This will be a fun project and it is still For Sale. Buy it now and we will finish it up your way.

October 2003

October was the month to focus on the grey '64 C Coupe. The majority of the mechanical work has been completed and the interior is well on it's way. At month end we are waiting on a few parts and anticipate completion by mid November. The next project will be the '62 Bali Blue B Coupe. The car has been stripped and is currently at the painters. This car is unique in that it has been upgraded to C disc brakes.

September 2003

The '62 ruby coupe was completed this month and looks great (Take a look at before and after on our picture page). It has headed for the Arizona countryside and the start of a great new hobby for the owners. The '64 grey coupe is back from the painters and looks super. Components are currently being evaluated and rebuilt. What's next? We will be starting on our next project soon. At this point it looks like it will be one of the Blue coupes or.... you pick one and we will restore it for you.

August 2003

August was a very active month. The '59 Cabriolet has left for it's new home and lots of North East adventures. The '62 Ruby coupe has taken center stage and is progressing well. The '64 grey coupe has gone to the painters and should return by month end.

July 2003

The '59 Cabriolet is complete after nearly 7 months. The result is a very nice car with a number of enhancements and optional items. This great high end driver will leave for the Nations Capital in August. Take a look at before and after on our picture page. The ruby red '62 Coupe is scheduled to be completed by the end of August and is now our primary focus. Trim, rubber, interior and glass are all underway.

June 2003

June was a productive month. The '59 Cabriolet is nearing completion as trim and interior is installed. The '62 Ruby red coupe returned from the painters and looks great (see project page). June also saw another project vehicle join the waiting line for future restoration. The new arrival is an Oslo Blue '62 B coupe. The restoration was started a number of years ago, which included an upgrade to disc brakes.

April - May 2003

First of all, a friend pointed out a few day ago that I had not updated the news page for April. While we have been busy working on our 2 current projects plus moving to our new home / shop, I guess the update slipped through the cracks. The '59 Cabriolet returned from the painters and looks fantastic. It is going together nicely and we are adding a number of safety and performance upgrades along the way. As  we approach the end of May, the new top is being installed and we are getting very close to a drivable vehicle. The '62 Red B Coupe is currently at the painters and should be back by early June. In mid May, we purchased another '62 T-6 B Coupe. The car needs pans and paint work. The good news is that it has a freshly rebuilt engine, nice interior and is thought to be a matching numbers car. It is currently painted Guards Red, but originally was Oslo Blue.

March 2003

We got a good start on the '62 Red B Coupe. The pans and longitudinals were replaced and all the pre-body shop prep work was completed. The '59 Cabriolet, currently at the painters, should be back by mid April. Most of the mechanical parts have been rebuilt and are ready for installation. In addition to all the shop work, we will be moving to a new location during April and May. My wife and I purchased an old 3 building school. Renovation was begun last July. Temporary living quarters and a work shop will be ready to go by early May. The new location for Hamilton Classics will double our current space.

February 2003

The '59 Cabriolet was the major focus again in February. The metalwork was completed in preparation for the trip to the paint shop. A fair amount of time was spent searching for parts and making sure the final product matches the new owners vision. We also purchased another project. The latest is a Heron grey '60 B Sunroof Coupe. The good news is, the numbers match, the bad news is it needs metal, engine and transmission work.

January 2003

January saw another one of our great little cars head out. The Silver '63 B Euro Coupe headed South to it's new home near San Antonio. The '59 Cabriolet project was the major focus for the month. The pans and longitudinals were replaced and it has now gone to have some fun at the media blasters. At month end, we brought in a new car for the project waiting line. A Slate Grey '64 C Coupe is the newest addition. This car needs less than most of our new arrivals. It was parked due to engine problems and now also needs brake work, plus a few other odds and ends, due to sitting in a carport for over 10 years.

What's next? We have 2-356 engines scheduled for rebuild and a couple of VW based projects in the coming month. The '59  Cabriolet should be the next 356 project in line, depending on the outcome of a possible "as is" Sale.
