Hamilton Classics NEWS 2004December 2004 Happy New Year! 2004 was a good year for Hamilton Classics. The '60 Sunroof Coupe has gone to the painters to get it's Ivory finish and should return by mid January. The customer '65 T-6 Coupe is complete and looks great. It will head home to New York in early January. We received a 912 engine which will be rebuilt and installed in a customers Speedster early next year. The Outlaw project will continue as time allows. November 2004 We have begun working on our latest purchase ('60 B Sunroof Coupe). It came to us as a partially completed project. New floorpans and a few other metal repairs were completed by months end. The Outlaw has also started to take shape as the top and rear deck were cut to form the new shape and look. Customer cars will be the focus in December, while the Sunroof is at the painters. Stay tuned for project picture updates coming soon. October 2004 The Oslo Blue '62 Coupe has sold and shipped to the East Coast. The Red '65 Coupe from New York is nearing completion. It should wrap up sometime in November. Late in the month, we purchased another '60 (T-5) sunroof (yes we now have two). One of the two cars will begin restoration soon. We also are beginning to work on a '64 "Outlaw" which will be a very unique 2 seat Roadster. Pictures will be posted as this project progresses. September 2004 September was a very busy month. The silver T-5 was completed and returned home to Austin. Another Austin car ('65C Coupe) came down for a couple of weeks and short list of repairs. The signal red T-6 is back on it's wheels with almost all of the interior and trim complete. Ads for the '62 Oslo Blue coupe have generated quite a bit of interest and several interested buyers. No sale, so far, but I think we are getting close. In October we will begin the restoration process on the '60 T-5 Sunroof. August 2004 As August ends, the silver T-5 is still here waiting on a few parts. It should be rolling out in early September. The signal Red T-6 from New York is looking good as it gets trimmed out with a new Tan interior. It should be nearing completion in the next 30 - 45 days. What's next? I've heard rumor that another local car will be coming down for some work within the next few weeks. Beyond that, it may be time to start on the T-5 Sunroof. July 2004 Well, plans changed a bit in July, as in most months. We had to wait on parts and new interior for the Signal Red T-6 and the Silver T-5 took a little longer at the paint shop than anticipated. This "extra" time was put to use finishing up the Oslo Blue T-6. By month end it was deemed complete and short of a few details, it is now looking for a new home. Check out the "Cars for Sale" page. The goal for August will be to get the Silver T-5 back on the road in Austin and the Signal Red T-6 close to final details and adjustments. Stay tuned and keep cool. June 2004 In June we did the teardown, metal repair and paint work on our customer Signal Red T-6. The car is back from the painter and looks great. Since we are doing a total restoration, there are a lot of components to be rebuilt before the whole project comes together. This month also brought a Silver T-5 customer car. We did a teardown to prepare it for some surface rust repairs and spot paint work. The plan is to have it back from the painters and together by the end of July. Meanwhile, our own Oslo Blue T-6 has made a little progress and is now is in running and driving condition, but on hold as customer cars take center stage. May 2004 May, like April, brought in some unplanned work. We did some undercarriage repairs on a customer T-5 and an "emergency" engine rebuild for a good friend, to get his daily driver T-6 back on the road. Late in the month, we made a quick trip to California to bring back 2 cars (T-6 B & T-6 C). Both cars are rough and in need of many parts. These cars will not be offered for sale until we have the major components lined up. Near month end, we received a customer car ('65 T-6 C) from the Northeast. Over the next several months we will be performing a complete restoration on this very solid little signal red coupe. April 2004 This months activity ended up much different than planned. The '63 Cabriolet returned from the painters and we worked our way through an additional list of tasks. It has now gone home to San Antonio. We also worked on a few details and upgrades to our resident '64 SC which will now be heading to AZ in May. Finally, we did make a little progress on the '62 Oslo Blue Coupe. The headliner was installed along with some very nice charcoal square weave carpet. We will begin a major customer car restoration in late May. Until then, we will busy ourselves on the Oslo Coupe. March 2004 March was an active month. Metal work on the customer '63 Cabriolet was completed and it was delivered to the painters. The Oslo Blue '62 Coupe was picked up and reassemble has begun. Oslo Blue is interesting and very much a color of the period. This will be a great looking car and color combination once it is completed. March also saw the Bali Blue Coupe sell and head for it's new home in New Mexico. April will focus on the Oslo Blue Coupe and some additional customer work. February 2004 The '62 Bali Blue B Coupe is complete and looking for a new owner. Check out the "Cars For Sale" page. Most of the month was spent doing undercarriage work on the '62 Oslo Blue B Coupe. The pans, longitudinals and trunk floor were replaced and it was prepared to go to the painters. It should be back, switched from red to it's original blue, by late March. At month end, we began metal work on a customer '63 Cabriolet. There is an extensive amount of work to be done on what will be a very nice matching numbers car. January 2004 The '62 Bali Blue B Coupe was the focus of attention in January. Everything went together smoothly and we had a running driving car by month end. The color combination of the dark blue exterior and Grey interior is outstanding (check out the pictures). The upgrade to "C" disc brakes makes this a great little car and a ball to drive. While we have had a few inquiries, It is still For Sale. Next up is the '62 Oslo Blue B Coupe. It has served as our driver for the past several months. It is a fairly straight matching numbers car in need of pans and longitudinals. It still has it's original pans which have been extensively patched in former "restorations". Finally, we have done some work on a customer '64 SC Coupe. The owner has now decided he would like to sell the car. It is a very nice matching numbers car which was completely restored, to a high end driver, within the last few years. A great running car with new Ivory paint, chrome and interior.
