NEWS 2006

December 2006

Restoration work is now complete on the '62 Coupe. The car turned out great and includes 12 volt, leather interior and disk brake upgrades. Next month it will leave for it's new home in Southern California. December also saw the completion of our part of Lee's  '58 Cabriolet restoration. Paint work was completed and it is ready to go home for assembly. Our '59 Cabriolet project is really in high gear. It required a lot of metal work, most of which was completed in December. Metal work will continue into the new year and transition into bodywork later in the month. Mick and I would like to thank all of our friends and customers for a great 2006 and look forward to new friends and projects in 2007.

November 2006

The shop saw a lot of vehicle movement in November. The Ivory '59 Cabriolet began its voyage to Australia. The '58 Cabriolet headed off to the painters and the '60 Coupe was completed and started on a trip which will eventually take it to France. Work on the '62 Coupe is now down to details. We have a running / driving car which is updated to disk brakes and 12 volt electrical system. Finally, The '59 Cabriolet has moved into the main shop and evaluation / disassembly has begun.

October 2006

October saw the sale of both Cabriolets. The Ivory '59 Cabriolet is heading for Australia and the Silver '59 Cabriolet will be restored, then head to Belgium. Meanwhile, work continues on the '62 Coupe which is now coming together with it's beautiful red leather interior. The '58 Cabriolet customer car is in the final stages of bodywork. It should head to the painters by late November. Finally, the mechanical work continues on the customer '60 Coupe. It should be up and running with fresh engine and brakes within the next several weeks.

September 2006

Just when you think you have a plan, plans change. September started out with us working away on a shop project ('64 Coupe). By month end, it had been put aside and we were starting on a couple of customer car projects ('60 Coupe and '58 Cabriolet). Meanwhile, the '62 Coupe has returned from the painters and looks great with it's new silver paint. Clean up and reassemble has begun on that project with a promise to have it home by Christmas. Finally, if you do not want to wait on a restoration, we have a very nice well restored '59 Cabriolet for sale. Information on this car will be posted soon on our cars for sale page.

August 2006

August was a month of record heat in Central Texas. Our motto was " drink another bottle of water and keep going". The '60 Sunroof was completed and you can now see the before and after pictures on the "Picture" page. The bodywork on the '62 Coupe was completed and it headed off to the paint shop. It will get Silver paint and should return by mid September. In August we also began work on a '64 Coupe which is a shop car. At month end, the floor pans and longitudinals had been replaced and it was in the final stages of metal repair. This car is For Sale and we are ready to complete it to your specifications. Call or email if you need more information.

July 2006

Our ,65 SC Coupe project has been completed picked up by it's North Texas owner. The '60 Sunroof is now in the final stages and should be completed sometime in August. It will be driven, yes driven, to it's new home in Canada. It is a great project which will be followed by a wonderful adventure. At months end, the '62 Coupe is in the final stages of bodywork and should be painted sometime in August.

June 2006

The '65 SC project is now in the final stages of completion . It is a running driving car that lacks only a few details before it is ready to head home. The '60 Sunroof is back from paint and looks outstanding. Assembly has begun and we are projecting an August completion date. Our '62 Coupe is well into the bodywork phase and should be ready for the paint shop by late July. In our spare time, we have begun construction on a storage area for our "projects in waiting".

May 2006

In May we completed the cosmetic restoration of the '63 Cabriolet. At month end it is waiting for the truck so it can head back to it's New York home. Assembly work is moving forward on our '65 SC project, we are now looking at a July completion. We will get the '60 Sunroof back from the paint shop in early June and will begin assembly and detail work on it as well. Finally, our '62 Coupe is deep into it's metal repair. It is presently scheduled for a Fall completion. We are looking forward to a busy and hot summer.

April 2006

April saw the completion of our '63 Outlaw project which has now headed North to it's new Home. The '65SC has returned from the paint shop and looks great with it's new Silver paint. The '63 Cabriolet was delayed for a bit , but should now finish up by mid May. Finally, bodywork is now completed on the '60 sunroof which will head to the painters in early May. Next up, a '62 Coupe. This was a shop car which was recently sold and will be restored this summer for it's California owner.

March 2006

The '65 SC did indeed go to the painters in March. I will be sprayed Porsche Silver and should return sometime in April. The '63 Cabriolet is coming together and should be close to complete by the end of next month. Meanwhile the '60 sunroof is mid bodywork and will be completed in time to head to the painters when the '65 SC returns. With some interesting new projects on the horizon, there is never a dull moment. Stay tuned.

February 2006

In February the '63 Cabriolet and the '63 Outlaw coupe returned from the painters. Both cars are now in the assembly and detail stage. If everything goes on schedule, they will be completed in April. Bodywork has begun on the '65 SC. It should be ready for the paint shop in March. The pressure is on to get all of our current projects out this Spring, so they can be driven and enjoyed this Summer.

January 2006

The decision to bring the bodywork and paint prep in-house has turned out to be a good one. So good, in fact, we have even brought the '60 Sunroof back to our shop for the completion of it's body repairs. Our painter will now concentrate on the painting process without having to worry about gaps and panel fit issues. The '63 Cabriolet has gone to the painters and should return by mid February. In January, we sold and shipped the white '64 Coupe. This car was an "as-is" sale and has left on it's journey to Holland. January also brought us a new project / parts car. The new arrival is also a '64 Coupe. This is a very rusty vehicle which may or may not make it back to the highway.
