NEWS 2008

October 2008

The '60 S-90 is now complete and ready to head for it's new home. Check out the before and after pictures on the pictures page. The '62 Sunroof Coupe is almost complete and now it is down to the testing and adjustments. Our customers '65 C Coupe has it's bodywork complete and is waiting for the trip to the painters. At months end we took delivery of our next project. It is a '58 Speedster which will get a cosmetic restoration. The car belongs to a new customer and a long time owner.

September 2008

The pace slowed a little in September as we all took some time off for a little vacation. At month end the S-90 is nearing completion and is in the testing stage. The '62 Sunroof is not far behind waiting only on a special order interior. Our paint shop is a little backed up with the promise of big things in October. Finally the '65 Coupe is in the final stages of body work and should be ready for paint by mid October. Weather is cooling a little and we are spending more time at the track looking for a few more seconds per lap.

August 2008

Progress was made on both the S-90 and the '62 Sunroof. Both cars should be completed sometime this Fall. Body work on the '60 Roadster is complete and awaits its trip to the painters. Next up is the '65 Coupe - we got the car disassembled, stripped and a start on the bodywork.

July 2008

Hot dry weather was here in July, but the 356 fun continued. The S-90 is back from the painters and looks fantastic in it's Ruby Red paint. Assembly has begun with completion estimated for late summer. We also began assembly work on the '62 Sunroof which should wrap up this fall. The '64 C coupe headed to the painters as the S-90 returned. It will also get Ruby Red paint. Finally the roadster is well into bodywork it should be completed and ready for paint by mid August.

June 2008

In June we continued our busy pace and brought in a '65 C coupe customer restoration to begin later this summer. At month end the '60 S-90 was painted, but still waiting for wet sanding / buffing. Our '64 C is bodywork complete and ready for it's trip to the painters. We also got a good start on the '60 Roadster by stripping it to bare metal and starting on a few metal repairs.

May 2008

Summer arrived early in central Texas. The weather is hot and the shop is busy. The '60 S-90 has gone to the painters to get it's ruby red finish. We have gotten a good start on the '64 C coupe bodywork and hopefully be able to trade cars with the painter in late June. This month we also built three engines. One is already off and running while the other two are ready to install.

April 2008

April was bodywork for the '60 S-90. The work was very close to completion by months end. The '64 C Coupe was disassembled and paint stripped to get it ready for a few small metal repairs. Bodywork will begin in May. Finally the '60 Roadster arrived and will be on hold for a few weeks before it begins its restoration adventure. The weather is warming up and it is time to get out and drive 'em.

March 2008

March saw our track car make its first laps. What a ride! Very tight suspension coupled with very sticky tires makes it ride like on rails. Back at the shop we finished the metalwork on the '60 S-90 and moved into bodywork. We also brought in a new project a '64 C Coupe which will get a complete mechanical and cosmetic restoration. At month end we are waiting the arrival of another total restoration candidate -  '60 B Roadster.

February 2008

February brought in three 356s for service and repair work. This, in addition to our restoration projects, made for a very busy month. The '65 SC was completed and is now waiting for the chrome wheels to return from rebuilder. The '64 track car is "alive" and will be on the road (and track) next month. Our customers '62 sunroof has gone to the painters and at months end it was almost complete. Finally, late in the month we sold and began the restoration adventure on the shop '60 S-90 Coupe.

January 2008

With absolutely great winter weather we were able to get a lot done. The '65 SC is back from the painters and is well along the way in the assembly process. Our very own '64 C is well on the way to becoming a track car. The extensively modified engine along with a trick suspension is going to make this a very exciting 356 to drive. Next, we moved forward on our customer '62 sunroof. The month was spent doing the bodywork in preparation for paintwork in February.
