NEWS 2010

January 2010

Happy 2010! As the new year begins we have both the '63 oslo blue and the '64 light ivory coupes ready to head home. Assembly work is moving ahead on the '62 signal red coupe which now has much of the trim installed. The '65 Outlaw coupe has its new and very cool look. At month end it headed to the painters to get a very custom paint job. Last, we started the new year with a new project a '61 Karmann hardtop. The car is one we picked up a couple of years ago. It had been left for dead in the Alabama woods and will require a considerable amount of metal repair. We have begun the process of bringing it back to life.

NEWS 2009

December 2009

Wow, another year gone and it has been a very good one for our shop. Lots of assembly work as we finish up the '64 light ivory coupe and test it out. We also get well into the assembly of the red '62 coupe and finally we took on the restoration completion of an oslo blue '63 coupe. Our '65 Outlaw project is now in the final stages of body work and will be ready for paint soon. Last, The '60 Roadster we completed just a month or so ago is now for sale. Click here for more information on this car.

November 2009

This month we completed the restoration work on our '60 Roadster. The car looks and runs great and will soon head West. The '64 coupe is well along in the assembly process and beginning to come back to life. The '62 coupe is now back from the painters and has taken on its new color of signal red. Finally our newest project the '65 Outlaw coupe has made its metal transformation and is now in the bodywork phase odf the project.

October 2009

The '64 Light Ivory Coupe returned from the painters and looks great. The assembly process has begun. Work has also begun on our newest project the '65 Coupe which will be transformed into a very nice high end outlaw. It is currently going through its metal transformation which will give it a much cleaner look. At month end we sent the '62 Ivory coupe off to the painters. It will return with a new look and signal red paint.

September 2009

Body work was completed on the '64 Light Ivory Coupe and it headed off to the painters. Assembly continues on the '60 Roadster. The shop also spent time preparing a Porsche powered entry for the 24 hours of LeMons race which will be run in Houston next month (not a 356, but German air cooled just the same).

August 2009

With the new month came a new project. We begun working on what is probably the most original and unmolested car we have ever had. It is a light Ivory '64 Coupe which has it's original pans, longitudinals, paint and interior. What a time capsule. It is amazing to see how the factory did everything rather than seeing what the last body shop did. We will be doing some minor metal repairs and restoring it for the long time owners future driving enjoyment.

July 2009

July has set records for the hot temperatures and lack of rain. Despite the heat, we have stayed very busy and continue to bring in new projects. The bodywork is complete on the '61 Coupe it will now go back to its owner who will do the paintwork at his facility. The roadster assembly continues on what will be a very nice car. Late in the month we received a new project. The '65 coupe will be a fun project as we transform it into a really unique outlaw.

June 2009

Metalwork has been completed on the '61 Coupe and it is now well into the bodywork phase. The '60 Roadster has returned from the painters and looks great with it's new Silver paint job. Assembly and engine rebuild has begun.

May 2009

Our '64 ruby red coupe was completed this month and is ready to go as a running driving car. Bodywork was completed on the '62 coupe which will now be on hold while we get some of the mechanical work done. The revised restoration plan for the '61 coupe has put it back into metal repair and bodywork. The '60 roadster, as expected, has gone to the painters for it's original color of silver.

April 2009

April saw the completion of the signal red '65 SC. This cosmetic restoration was moved along quickly as the owner wanted to get out and enjoy some spring driving. The '64 ruby red coupe now has a new gearbox and should be completed next month. Body work is moving along well on the '62 ivory coupe. This is a very straight car which has been off the road for many years. Finally we have gotten restarted on out '60 roadster project. With just a little bodywork to complete it should head to the painters in May.

March 2009

In March the champagne yellow '65 coupe headed back home and back on the road. A great car and a great owner. The ruby red '64 coupe is nearing completion ,but currently has a gearbox problem that needs to be resolved. The signal red '65 SC coupe is back from the painters, looks great and is beginning assembly. With metal work completed on the '62 coupe we are now into the body work of that project. Finally, we performed some maintenance and upgrades on a local customers '58 speedster. Great looking car with lots of power!

February 2009

Most of the assembly work is complete on both the '65 and '64 coupes. The cars should be back on the road in March. The '61 coupe has gone to the painter for it's spot paint work. Our signal red '65 SC was put on the fast track and at month end the required bodywork was completed and it has also gone to the paint shop. We also began the disassembly and strip work on the '62 coupe. Oh yeah, in our spare time we built and tested a new 2.2 liter engine for our track car.

January 2009

The new year started off at full speed. the yellow '65C and red '64C are both moving ahead in the assembly process. The Speedster is waiting on a few parts so it can transition between original look and outlaw. A good friends '61 coupe came in for some minor bodywork and spot painting. Additionally we received two new coupe projects '65 SC and '62 S. Wow, what a way to get the year started.
