NEWS 2010June 2010 Here we are in June and Texas summer has arrived. We got the '62 Cabriolet back from the painters and it looks fantastic. This car will be put on hold for a short while to let some of the other projects take center stage. Interior work is moving forward on both of our '65 outlaw coupes. Each interior in black and both custom with very different looks. The '60 Cabriolet project is now in the final stages of body work and should head to the painters sometime early next month. Last we have begun the disassembly on our next project. A '63 Coupe which needs a total redo. We also just received a '63 Cabriolet which is currently waiting in line for its facelift. Summer is here, get out and drive 'em. May 2010 In May we said good by to the '62 signal red Coupe. Hopefully it will bring the owner the same enjoyment he experienced when it was last on the road over 30 years ago. This month we also sent a '60 Roadster we sold for a good customer to Paris, France. In addition the Karmann hardtop/Cabriolet conversion headed to the painters to receive its new coat of silver paint. By month end the metal work had been completed on the '60 Cabriolet and body work had begun. April 2010 In April we really got busy on the assembly of our very special '65 Outlaw Coupe. With so many custom touches, this is going to be a very special car and a fun project. The '62 Karmann hardtop/Cabriolet conversion continued down the bodywork path and at month end it was almost ready for paint. April also saw us start a new project. We began work on a '60 Cabriolet. We got it disassembled and media blasted. It is now waiting its turn to get some minor rust repair. This month also brought in a new project. We will be doing a partial restoration on a '65 Outlaw coupe. Which will give us two '65 outlaws on the house. Both silver and both with racing stripes. A busy time at Hamilton Classics. March 2010 March was Karmann hardtop month our shop car ('61 hardtop/Cabriolet conversion) had its metal work completed and body work roughed in. It is now on hold (and for sale) as we move forward on customer projects. The '62 Karmann project had its top removed and metalwork completed. At month end the body work was moving forward. March also saw the '62 signal red coupe nearing completion. The customer has requested a few additions which should be completed within the next month. Finally, we received a customer '60 Cabriolet which will be our next complete restoration. Work should begin on this project in early April. February 2010 This month we really got into our '61 Karmann hardtop. The decision has been made to cut off the top and convert it to a Cabriolet clone. Since this is a T-5 hardtop the conversion is a rather simple task. With that said, we also received a customers '62 Karmann hardtop. This car will also be converted to a Cabriolet clone. The big difference is this car is a T-6 hardtop which has a different top and windshield. The task of turning this car into a Cabriolet is much more involved. January 2010 Happy 2010! As the new year begins we have both the '63 oslo blue and the '64 light ivory coupes ready to head home. Assembly work is moving ahead on the '62 signal red coupe which now has much of the trim installed. The '65 Outlaw coupe has its new and very cool look. At month end it headed to the painters to get a very custom paint job. Last, we started the new year with a new project a '61 Karmann hardtop. The car is one we picked up a couple of years ago. It had been left for dead in the Alabama woods and will require a considerable amount of metal repair. We have begun the process of bringing it back to life.
